This wind music chamber ensemble concert specially invited Chinese French horn player, educator, Executive President of the Chinese French Horn Society, and French horn professor Zhang Chengxin of the Central Conservatory of Music to cheer for us. We are really honored.Professor Zhang Chengxin is a senior French horn player and a woodwind ensemble artist. As early as the late 1980s, he was a member of the woodwind quintet of the Central Orchestra of the Chinese Academy of Music. After being transferred to the Orchestral Department of the Central Conservatory of Music to teach in the 1990s, he worked with the woodwind teachers to become an excellent woodwind quintet in our school. His artistic experience has accumulated extremely rich performance experience, and he has given high evaluation to our concert performances and put forward some reasonable suggestions. We have benefited a lot and are deeply grateful!

After the concert, I went backstage to congratulate the performers as soon as possible. Their superb performance skills impressed the audience. In a short chat with them, I understood and learned the content meaning and creative background of the three tracks they chose this time.Below I will share with you the creative style and content of these pieces of music.

The composer of the first track, Jacques Ibel, is one of the French composers representing the 20th century. His compositional style is light, free and easy, fresh and slender. The "3 sketches" for the woodwind quintet written in 1930 have Gershwin's American jazz elements, but they have Ibel's own musical characteristics, which has become the charm of this work. This wood five suite shows Ibel's musical color and creativity. He found that the combination of these five musical instruments can show a wealth of musical color charm. The first movement began with a surging, gorgeous and loud musical theme. The second movement begins with an intimate and beautiful duet between the flute and the clarinet. This is the shortest of the three movements.Oboe, French horn and bassoon were added in the second half to expand the color of the music. In the third movement, Ibel fully demonstrated the perfect acoustics of the wooden five ensemble, which contained elements of dance music from the 1930s.This piece is also Ibel's only woodwind quintet, which fully demonstrates Ibel's stunning and funny composing style, so this piece occupies a very important position in the woodwind quintet's music library.

Leosh-Janacek: Wind Sextet Suite Maldi, also known as "Youth", consists of flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, French horn and bass clarinet. This "Youth" has four movements, namely allegro, gentle allegro, lively and lively allegro. This song was written in 1924, when Janacek was 70 years old, because it shows the memories of his childhood in the blue uniform of the youth choir of the Monastery of St. Augustine in Brno, hence the name "youth".This piece fully expresses the skills and characteristics of various woodwind instruments, but it is not only a difficult skill, but also contains interesting musical ideas and characteristics of Janacek's composing techniques in his later years.
