Mr. Bai Tie
Bai Tie is an active and famous Chinese clarinet player on the international wind music stage today.His performance footprints have spread throughout the United States, Europe, and Asian countries.He has been invited to lecture and hold solo concerts in colleges and groups such as the Central Conservatory of Music, the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, the Shenyang Conservatory of Music, the Xi'an Conservatory of Music, the Sichuan Conservatory of Music, the Minzu University of China, the Jilin Academy of Arts, the Yanbian Academy of Arts, and the General Government Military Orchestra.
At the invitation of the International Clarinet Association, he has held solo concerts at the conference of the International Clarinet Association.In 1998 in Ohio, USA, in 2005 in Tokyo, Japan, and in 2006 in Atlanta, USA.“His performance is full of passion, unbelievable timbre control ability, and superb modern performance technology, which has brought music to a superb level”—International Clarinet Magazine.
In 1998, the “98 Beijing International Clarinet Music Festival”, which was initiated and organized by Bai Tie and attended by world-famous musicians from 16 countries and regions, was the first international clarinet music festival held in Asia, including the largest event in the Pacific.After that, he served as the artistic director of the “China International Clarinet Art Festival” held in Yanji in 2000, Changchun in 2004, Beijing in 2007, Taiyuan in 2009, and Chongqing in 2015.
In 2007, the Clarinet Society of the Chinese Musicians Association awarded him the Outstanding Contribution Award, and in 2018, he was awarded the clarinet Lifetime Achievement Award. His solo album CDs have been published and distributed in the United States and China, and his book “How to Play Clarinet” has also been published and distributed in China.He is currently a professor of clarinet at Bethesda University in Los Angeles, USA, and serves as the spokesperson for the ”Claitman" brand.
